In order to mark the Planet Earth Day, 22 April, FORS Montenegro in cooperation with Primary School "Radoje Čizmović" from Nikšić, Primary School "Radomir Mitrović" from Berane and Primary School "Ristan Pavlović" from Pljevlja organized art exhibitions on the topic of environmental protection. The exhibitions were prepared by the youngest children, to 4th grade. Children showed various ways of solving environmental pollution problems through their creativity and imagination, with the help of their teachers, and in that way they sent a message regarding the need and importance of environmental protection.
As a continuation of information about the need of environmental protection, during the following period FORS Montenegro will organize lectures in the above mentioned schools about the selective waste disposal and recycling as the ways of protecting of natural resources, as well as literary competition with the environmental protection subject.
Also, aiming to reduce the use of plastic bags, on this important day we distributed ECO bags, together with the youngest children, and this activity will be continued in the following period.
The activities mentioned are being realized within the project "CLEAN – Citizens Learning Environmental Actions Needed", financed by the European Union, within the Cross-border Programme Serbia-Montenegro, which is implemented by FORS Montenegro in cooperation with municipalities of Nikšić, Berane and Pljevlja and public utilities companies from those municipalities. Partners from Serbia are municipalities of Nova Varoš and Prijepolje and public utilities companies from those municipalities.
