FORS Montenegro - Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro on Tuesday, 30.03.2010 at the premises of the Municipality Pljevlja hall, along with the Agency for Construction and Development of the Municipality Pljevlja, organized a public presentation of the project "Strengthening capacity to manage areas of outstanding natural value"
The objectives of this presentation were:
Overall objective of the project is to build the capacity of Western Balkan countries for the effective management of areas of outstanding natural value and preserve their natural resources.
Total project value: 191,116.98 EUR
Project donor: The European Union (80%)
Sarajevo Canton, the Municipality of Pljevlja, Karlovac County (20%)
Together with FORS Montenegro partners in the project are: NGO "Centre for Environmentally Sustainable Development of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Nature Park" Logarska valley ", Slovenia and Ecological Association" How green is my valley "Plaški, Croatia.
For the implementation of the project three pilot areas are selected: Mountain Ljubišnja, Municipality of Pljevlja in Montenegro, an area of outstanding natural values, sensitive biological diversity and valuable natural habitats. This mountain is envisaged to be protected area and entitled for Regional Park; natural monument Spring of Bosnia River -Bosnia and Herzegovina, legally protected by the government of the County and the upper stream of the river in the town of Plaski Dretulje in Croatia, the ecological network of Croatia (no. HR2000609) - candidate for Natura 2000 area.
Earlier, more accurately on 29th March 2010 FORS Montenegro participated in the presentation of the same project in the Hollywood Hotel in Sarajevo. According to the plan there will be presentation of the project in the first decade of April, in the city Plaški in Croatia.
