From 15 April 2012 till 14 June 2013 FORS Montenegro and EDEN Centre - Environmental Centre for Development, Education and Networking from Albania started implemented 14-month project “Separate Waste Collection in Schools and Communities” funded by the European Union within the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Albania – Montenegro.
The project was realised in Berane, Plav and Andrijevica in Montenegro, and in the communes of Ana e Malit, Dajci and Velipoja in Albania. The overall objectives of this initiative was to stimulate development of separate waste collection in both rural and urban areas of border region and provide contribution to connecting people, communities and exchange of ideas and knowledge in the border regions through environmental protection activities. The specific objective is to increase knowledge of pupils and citizens on separate waste collection through educational, media and raising awareness activities.
The project is worth € 150,313.00, out of which € 70,653.00 is allocated for Montenegro.
