Informing youth on green economy
In order to increase the awareness and knowlege of youth on environmental protection, the workshops on green economy and green entrepreneuship were organised last week in Nikšić for students of Secondary School for Economics and Hospitality.
The aim of the workshops was to motivate the youth to behave responsibly towards the environment as well as to contribute to creating sense for collective changes directed towards ecologically responsible behavior. During the workshops, the following topics were presented to students: green economy concept, possibilities of its application in practice, importance of this concept in reducing the consumption of natural resources, as well as the benefits that green economy offers to youth. Hence, the good practice eamples in green economy and green entrepreneuship with the applictaion in agricluture, tourism, sustainable transport, green construction, waste management, renewable energy sources, etc. were presented.
So far 7 workshops have been organised for app. 150 students of different grades, from the 1st to the 4th. The workshops will be continued in the following period.
The workshops were organized within the project GEAR – Green Economy for Advanced Region whose aim is to increase the impact of civil society organisations from Montenegro, Serbia, B&H, North Macedonia and Albania in environmental protection by promoting networking, strengthening their capacities and by promoting green economy through CSO local projects.
The project is financed by the European Union within the Civil Society Facility and Media Programme 2016-2017, and implemented by FORS Montenegro in partnership with the organisations SMART Kolektiv from Serbia, Centre for Development and Support from B&H, EKO Svest from North Macedonia, EDEN Center from Albania and Association Slap from Croatia. In Montenegro the project is co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro.
