Europe Day - 9 May is the date when European values are promoted worldwide and a European symbol which along with the motto, anthem and flag identifies the political entity of the European Union. Europe Day is the occasion for activities and festivals that bring Europe closer to its citizens, as well as to those countries aspiring to become members, including the Montenegro .
Within the project "Let Me Tell You Something about EU 2" implemented by FORS Montenegro, a celebration of Europe Day was organised in Berane, in collaboration with the Municipality of Berane. During the celebration, the promotional material has been distributed on EU infostand so the citizens have opportunity to get information about the European Union, the European integration process of Montenegro and Montenegro's preparations for membership.
Also, chess competition and overcoming of obstacles through children's games were organized, the students assembled the puzzle with an EU motive and creative workshops were part of celebration which was followed by a music program .
This twelve-month project is funded by the Communications budget of the EU Delegation to Montenegro and is part of a comprehensive communication plan of the EU Delegation to Montenegro. The EU fairs were held in Pljevlja and Berane and will be organized in other target municipalities during EU month: Andrijevica, Plav, Rozaje, Bijelo Polje, Zabljak, Šavnik and Plužine .
