The European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year on 26 September. This date was proclaimed in 2001 at the initiative of the Council of Europe.
Throughout Europe, people are encouraged to learn more languages, at any age, in and out of school. The linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of Europe.
In order to promote this day, FORS Montenegro organized a school lesson in the High School "30 September" in Rožaje. The students of the final year prepared presentation in cooperation with teachers of the subject European Integration and presented the meaning of the motto "United in Diversity" which includes a wide range of languages in one area that are connected into a whole through the regional community, called the European Union. In the previous period we also organized inter-municipal literary competition, so the student from this school who was awarded the second prize read his essay on the topic "EU values" and in the best way contributed to the success of this event.
