On the path towards the European Union, Montenegro should harmonize the national legislation with the EU acquis. Therefore, Montenegro negotiates 33 chapters including the Negotiation chapter 28 - Consumer and health protection. Implementation of European legislation in this area should contribute to improving the level of safety of products on the market and ensuring protection of the rights and health of consumers, as well as their quality of life.
This chapter deals with issues related to the interests of citizens - consumer policy, security and economic interests and public health. It is necessary to raise public awareness and ensure active participation of citizens in this process, in order to contribute to better informing and more successful implementation of the acquis in this area.
For this purpose, FORS Montenegro, within the project "Let Me Tell You Something about the EU - 2", which is financed by the Communication budget of the of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, organized a presentation on the topic of this Negotiation chapter in Rozaje. The presentation was held on 9 October, and the speakers were Melita Rastoder Ljaić, Secretary of the Working Group 28 for the preparation of negotiations on Montenegro's accession to the EU in the field of the EU acquis in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro and Marina Radulovic from the Inspection Affairs of Montenegro. The presentation was organized in cooperation with the local government.
This was a final presentation on different negotiation chapters which were held in all target municipalities.
