At the recent International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Montenegrin companies exhibited their products and won several prestigious awards.
The USAID Economic Growth Project supported the participation of nine companies from northern Montenegro in the 78 International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad. All companies benefited from the opportunity to exhibit their products to a wide audience and a number of them won prestigious awards. The Novi Sad Agricultural Fair is the biggest festival of agriculture in this part of Europe. In addition to companies from the Western Balkans, exhibitors included a number of well-known international companies from around the world.
FORS Montenegro-The Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro in cooperation with the Protection and Rescue Service of Niksic Municipality organizes a cross-border fire exercise. The exercise is implemented within the project "Be ready", funded by the European Union, through the cross-border cooperation program between Bosnia and Herzegovina & Montenegro.
Within the "CLEAN" project funded by the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica, as a part of the U.S. Embassy Environmental Awareness Program, FORS Montenegro-The Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro, on 10th May in Niksic, Pljevlja and Danilovgrad organized a quiz on recycling and environmental protection.
Within the project Capacity building for sound management of areas of outstanding natural value“ Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro, in cooperation with the Municipality of Pljevlja, invites citizens from local communities Bobovo, Gradac, Sula and Kosanica to get involved in the realization of the project through identification and creation of a local souvenir of Ljubisnja mountain.
FORS Montenegro – Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro implements a project IPA Funds for EU Integrations funded by the European Union through Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro. The project is realized in thirteen municipalities in Montenegro – Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Danilovgrad, Zabljak, Kolasin, Mojkovac, Niksic, Plav, Pluzine, Pljevlja, Rozaje and Savnik.
Within the scope of the project Capacity building for sound management of areas of outstanding natural value FORS Montenegro, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pljevlja, from 21st to 24th April 2011 organized a two-day workshop on the topic of environment protection.
Accessibility is one of the areas covered by the Montenegrin Strategy of Integration of People with Disabilities. The project ?Equal Opportunities” solved one part of this issue by installation of access ramps in four public institutions in northern Montenegro. The ramps have been installed in the Health Centre and Hospital in Berane, and the Health Centre and the Cultural Centre in Plav.
FORS Montenegro – Foundation for the Development of Northern Montenegro, together with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations – UNFAO, on 28th March organized one-day workshop in Zabljak with the topic ?Capacity building of small farmers“.
Within the project “Capacity building for sound management of areas of outstanding natural value”, FORS Montenegro and the Municipality of Pljevlja organized an event in order to deliver a document “Management tools for Ljubisnja Mountain” in the premises of the Agency for Construction and Development of Pljevlja Municipality.
The team that works on the implementation of the project “Capacity building for sound management of areas of outstanding natural value” has successfully realized the first year of the project implementation, what has been confirmed by approval of the Interim Report Tim by European Commission in Brussels.
Activities in the first year were focused on the development of tools (development processes) for sustainable management of the pilot areas selected in Montenegro, BiH and Croatia.
