Green Economy
The aim of the project Green Economy Initaitive which was implemented by FORS Montenegro in partnership with the Centre for Environmentally Sustainable Development – CESD from Bosnia and Herzegovina had the aim to increase involvement of civil society organisations in creation and implementation of local public policies and plans related to environmental protection through strengthening their capacity and promotion of the green economy concept.
The project was implemented in the following municipalities in Montenegro – Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Danilovgrad, Zabljak, Kolasin, Mojkovac, Niksic, Plav, Pluzine, Pljevlja, Rozaje and Savnik and the main activities included a training programme for civil society organisations on Project Cycle Management, Public Advocacy and Lobbying, Participation in Decision Making and Public Relations. Apart from the training for the civil sector, the project promoted green economy as a mechanism for achieving sustainable development through series of activities including round tables with local authorities, lectures and workshops for primary and secondary school students, TV and radio shows, newspaper articles and website texts and the Conference on “Development of Green Economy“.

The project is funded by European Union through Civil Society Facility, while the part of the necessary co-funding was provided through calls for proposals of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro and UNDP Montenegro.
The project was implemented from 1 April 2013 to 30 April 2015.
